Arylic LP20 vs WiiM Pro Plus: Which Streamer Fits Your System?

Arylic LP20 and WiiM Pro Plus occupy a similar role: both add network streaming, analogue output, digital output, app control, and multi-room functions to an existing stereo. The correct choice is less about declaring a universal winner and more about matching ports, ecosystems, source redistribution, DSP, and future expansion.

Quick decision

• Choose LP20 when you need subwoofer output, USB-drive playback, USB-C PC audio, 12V trigger, Bluetooth connection for two phones, or its particular combination of AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and Connect services.
• Choose WiiM Pro Plus when you prioritize the WiiM software platform, room and EQ tools, mature input redistribution, Roon Ready support, and a compact system with strong documented line-output and analogue-input performance.

Streaming and ecosystem support

Both products advertise AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, DLNA/UPnP, and network playback. Arylic also lists Qobuz Connect for LP20. WiiM integrates a broad catalogue of services in the WiiM Home app and supports Roon Ready on Pro Plus. Service availability can vary by firmware and region.

AirPlay, Google Cast, proprietary app grouping, and Connect services are different signal paths. A product supporting all of them does not merge them into one universal multi-room group.

Connections

LP20: RCA input, optical input, USB host for drives, USB-C PC audio, RCA output, optical output, coaxial output, dedicated subwoofer output, Ethernet, and 12V trigger. Arylic documents the optical and coaxial digital outputs up to 24-bit/192 kHz PCM and USB storage up to 128 GB in FAT16, FAT32, or exFAT.

WiiM Pro Plus: RCA line input, optical input, RCA line output, optical output, coaxial output, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. It lacks the LP20’s USB-drive port, PC-audio input, dedicated subwoofer output, and 12V trigger. Neither product includes HDMI ARC, headphone output, speaker amplification, or a phono stage.

DAC and analogue path

Arylic specifies an AKM AK4490EQ DAC for LP20. WiiM specifies AKM AK4493SEQ plus a TI output stage for Pro Plus, along with a TI PCM1861 ADC for line input. WiiM publishes 120 dB A-weighted SNR and -110 dB THD+N figures for Pro Plus line output under its conditions. Arylic describes LP20 line output at up to 2 Vrms but does not present directly comparable figures on the current page.

Chip names are not complete sound-quality measurements. Output level, filtering, clocking, power design, analogue circuitry, firmware, and load all matter. A controlled listening test and independent measurements would be required for a review verdict.

Subwoofer and 2.1 systems

LP20 has a dedicated subwoofer output and is marketed for 2.1 systems. Arylic’s current specification lists a 3 Vrms maximum and a 250 Hz crossover frequency. Buyers should confirm whether that frequency is fixed or configurable in current firmware because the product page does not fully explain the control range.

WiiM Pro Plus has no dedicated subwoofer output. A subwoofer must be integrated through the amplifier, speakers, an external crossover, or a subwoofer with high-level or pass-through connections.

DSP and control software

WiiM’s platform offers extensive graphic and parametric EQ, presets, room-correction-related tools, input routing, and multi-room controls. The exact functions can change by firmware.

LP20 uses the GO CONTROL app and offers device, playback, and audio controls. Arylic’s published specification highlights PC control and multi-room through AirPlay 2 or Google Cast. Do not assume that workflows from older 4STREAM-based Arylic models are identical.

External-input redistribution

Both devices have physical inputs, but standard AirPlay 2 and Google Cast receiving capability does not mean an external turntable, TV, or line input can be transmitted to arbitrary HomePods or Cast speakers. Arylic explicitly says LP20 cannot cast external inputs to those endpoints. WiiM input redistribution is primarily within compatible WiiM/Linkplay grouping, not a universal AirPlay transmitter.

Which one fits which system?

• Powered speakers plus subwoofer: LP20 is simpler because of its dedicated sub output.
• External DAC: both provide optical and coaxial outputs; choose by software and services.
• Roon system: Pro Plus is the clear documented choice.
• USB drive or desktop PC: LP20 offers the relevant physical connections.
• Advanced EQ and platform maturity: Pro Plus has the stronger documented software case.
• TV through HDMI: neither; consider WiiM Ultra or another ARC-capable device.

Bottom line

LP20 is the more connection-rich 2.1 and desktop hub. WiiM Pro Plus is the more established software-and-DSP-centered network streamer with strong input and line-output documentation. Choose LP20 for USB, PC, subwoofer, and trigger integration; choose Pro Plus for Roon, WiiM ecosystem control, and deeper documented DSP. Neither replaces an HDMI TV hub, headphone amplifier, speaker amplifier, or phono preamp.
