Nuvoton launches the NAU83G60YG stereo smart amplifier with Klippel KCS

Event date: August 5, 2026 | Status: Officially confirmed

Nuvoton has launched the NAU83G60YG, a Class-D stereo smart-amplifier IC that integrates Klippel Controlled Sound (KCS), an adaptive nonlinear speaker-control system. The chip delivers up to 2 × 30 W into 4 ohms or 2 × 20 W into 8 ohms from a 24 V supply, and supports I²S, PCM and TDM digital audio interfaces.

Nuvoton positions the part for conference speakerphones, compact smart speakers, professional monitors and automotive audio. KCS is intended to compensate for loudspeaker nonlinearity while improving mechanical and thermal protection. The company also says the linearized reference signal can improve acoustic echo-cancellation learning, while the low-latency processing can support active-noise-cancellation applications. The NT-NAU83G60 evaluation board is available through Nuvoton’s sales channels and direct store.

Why it matters: This is a component announcement, not a finished consumer product. Its significance is downstream: manufacturers may be able to extract more bass and usable output from small drivers with lower distortion and more reliable protection. Buyers should not assume that every future product using the chip will sound the same; enclosure design, driver quality, tuning and implementation remain decisive.

Shows & Events

Technics schedules an all-vinyl SL-1200 anniversary performance

Announcement date: August 6, 2026 | Event date: August 18, 2026 | Status: Officially confirmed

Technics will premiere an exclusive all-vinyl DJ set by ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U on Resident Advisor’s YouTube channel. The free stream is scheduled for August 18 at 20:00 UTC, with the performance filmed at Tokyo Tower. The event begins Technics’ celebration of the SL-1200 series’ 55th anniversary in 2027.

Technics says cumulative SL-1200-series shipments have exceeded 3.5 million units since the first model appeared in 1972. The announcement is an event notice only: it does not introduce a new SL-1200 model or announce a commemorative edition.

Why it matters: Turntable buyers should not interpret the anniversary campaign as evidence that new hardware is imminent. For now, the concrete news is the scheduled performance and the start of the anniversary marketing program.

Brand & Industry

Bose Professional acquires Fulcrum Acoustic

Event and announcement date: August 5, 2026 | Status: Officially confirmed

Bose Professional has acquired Massachusetts-based Fulcrum Acoustic, a manufacturer of professional loudspeakers, amplifiers and immersive-audio systems. It is Bose Professional’s first acquisition since the business became independent following Transom Capital Group’s purchase in 2023.

Fulcrum will continue to operate under its own brand. Bose Professional says Fulcrum’s current products, team, support, service, channel relationships and Whitinsville, Massachusetts manufacturing will remain in place. Fulcrum brings a catalog of roughly 130 products, including coaxial point-source loudspeakers, Passive Cardioid Technology and TQ processing.

The longer-term structure is more important than the day-one continuity. Bose Professional plans to transition to the 802 LABS name in February 2027, while Fulcrum remains a distinct brand within the combined performance-audio offering. Bose says the companies are not yet merging sales channels; current projects, quotes and support contacts remain unchanged.

Why it matters: Integrators and venue operators do not need to revise current Fulcrum projects solely because of the acquisition. Longer term, Bose Professional’s global distribution could expand Fulcrum availability, while portfolio and channel consolidation may change how products are specified and purchased. Buyers should continue to confirm dealer authorization, support responsibility and software compatibility for each project.

News verification

Dates: Nuvoton announcement August 5, 2026; Technics announcement August 6, 2026; Technics performance scheduled for August 18, 2026 at 20:00 UTC. The briefing was published August 7, 2026.

Practical impact: Klippel KCS is moving into an integrated smart-amplifier IC; Bose Professional is expanding its installed-sound portfolio; the Technics item is an anniversary event, not evidence of a new SL-1200 model.
