Sony Will End Seven Network Services on 71 Audio/Video Models on November 17, 2026

Sony has announced a network-service shutdown affecting 71 older audio and video products. From November 17, 2026, the affected models will no longer be able to access the seven services named in Sony's notice. Sony says downloaded network services may also become inaccessible, and related icons may be removed from devices beginning November 18, 2026.

This is an officially confirmed lifecycle change, not a user report or a hardware recall. It matters most to owners and second-hand buyers who rely on a product's built-in Spotify or Google Cast support.

What this means for owners and buyers

If built-in streaming is central to how you use one of these products, treat November 17, 2026 as the end of the seven named services. Before buying an affected model used, price it as conventional audio/video hardware and budget for an external streamer if the available inputs support one.

Sony's notice does not say that local playback, disc playback, amplification or every network function will stop. Those functions should therefore be evaluated separately for each model. SoundPath Lab will not mark the entire product as unusable.
