Naim and Focal Add Presto Music Across Current Streamers: Firmware Versions and Compatibility

Naim and Focal have added direct Presto Music integration across their current streaming platforms. The update matters most to classical and jazz listeners, but owners need to match the correct firmware branch to their product family before expecting the service to appear.

The companies' official announcement lists six firmware branches. It also states that first-generation streamers cannot receive the Presto Music integration.

Supported firmware branches

The firmware announcement was posted on 4 August 2026. New Classic firmware 5.4.0 was being installed by owners on 5 August. Availability can still vary by model, region and update staging.

What the update adds

Presto Music can now be selected as a supported streaming service on eligible Naim and Focal streamers. The integration provides access to Presto's classical, jazz and audiophile catalogue through the Focal & Naim control environment, with playback at the highest quality available to the account and compatible device.

Owners should update both the streamer firmware and the Focal & Naim app. The current iOS app at the time of this check is version 8.2.1, released on 19 August 2026. Android version parity should be verified in the relevant regional store.

Compatibility warning

Naim explicitly says first-generation streamers cannot be updated for Presto Music. Buyers should therefore avoid assuming that the presence of a network connection or an older Naim streaming platform guarantees access.

The announcement uses product-family names rather than a complete model-by-model table. If the service does not appear after updating, verify the exact model and installed firmware before resetting the product or changing network settings.

Known limits and risks

• Rollback procedures are not published in the announcement.
• Worldwide rollout completion is not confirmed.
• Exact eligibility within broad labels such as “Classic streamers” should be checked against the device's own update screen or Naim support.
