FiiO DISC V2.40 Adds Wireless Control and Fixes Bluetooth No-Output, Restarts and Scanning Bugs

FiiO has released firmware V2.40 for the SNOWSKY DISC portable music player. The update adds wireless control through FiiO Control, expands playlist and display functions, and addresses several practical faults involving Bluetooth-receiver output, unexpected restarts and music-library scanning.

What V2.40 adds

DISC can now be controlled wirelessly through the FiiO Control app. FiiO also adds support for custom lock-screen wallpapers, multiple custom playlists, M3U playlist import and export, and an optional CD-number display for album tracks.

Wireless app control requires FiiO Control version 4.5.0 or later. The iOS 4.5.0 release also explicitly added DISC support. Users with an older app version should update the app before concluding that wireless control is missing from the player firmware.

FiiO provides V2.40 through its official DISC firmware thread and download package. The cumulative instructions also discuss online updating, but FiiO does not clearly state whether every earlier DISC build in every region can obtain V2.40 by OTA.
