Check your sharing setup before upgrading. FiiO AIR LINK firmware V2.2.0, released on 1 September 2026, removes one-to-two (dual-stream) audio transmission. It adds new functions, but owners relying on two existing Bluetooth headphones should check their replacement workflow first. FiiO's announcement explicitly confirms the removal.
What changes
FiiO lists new low-latency and LC3 broadcast modes, calling and PEQ, plus improved iOS app connectivity. Broadcast reception requires Auracast-compatible receivers. Our interpretation: this requirement prevents treating broadcast as a universal replacement for sharing with two arbitrary Bluetooth headphones.
aptX Lossless remains available under the High Quality option when the receiver supports it; the separate sub-option has been removed. These are manufacturer descriptions, not SoundPath Lab test results. See the official changelog and download.
Update method and precautions
Use the AIR LINK V2.2.0 package and upgrade tutorial linked from the official download thread. This record covers AIR LINK only; it does not cover AIR AMP or BT11.
For the first iOS app connection after updating, FiiO instructs owners to remove the old AIR LINK device in the app and in the phone's Bluetooth pairing list, close the app from the background, then reopen it.
Pending verification: rollback support, minimum app version, regional/OTA availability, receiver compatibility in practice and independent confirmation of the iOS improvement. No successful downgrade procedure is established here. The iOS fix claim remains resolved-pending-verification.
