FiiO K11
A wired desktop DAC/headphone amplifier for USB, optical and coaxial sources, with RCA line output and separate single-ended and balanced headphone outputs. This is the CS43198 K11, not K11 R2R.
Evidence checked / updated: 2026-10-11. Manufacturer claims and editorial system-fit assessment. No SoundPath Lab listening or measurement test.
Verified documentation
- DAC: Cirrus Logic CS43198; separate stable identity from K11 R2R.
- Inputs / outputs: USB-C, optical and coaxial inputs; RCA line, 6.35 mm and 4.4 mm headphone outputs. Coaxial digital output works only in USB mode.
- Format ceilings: USB: PCM 384 kHz/32-bit, native DSD256; coaxial: PCM 192 kHz/24-bit; optical: PCM 96 kHz/24-bit. Host, driver and player settings still matter.
- Official headphone ratings: 32 ohms: at least 520 mW/channel single-ended or 1400 mW/channel balanced, THD+N below 1%; 300 ohms: 60 or 250 mW/channel under the same distortion limit. The official product page specifies high gain for these ratings; stimulus frequency is not specified; not SPL measurements.
- Power / app: External 12 V/2 A DC supply; no battery. FiiO Control is listed N/A.
- RCA volume: The dedicated K11 output FAQ describes LO as adjustable-volume RCA output; begin at low volume and check the selected mode.
Best for
A computer or stereo digital source feeding wired headphones, or an existing amplifier/active-speaker system needing RCA DAC output. Balanced output is useful when the headphone and cable already support it.
Avoid if
Choose another system if you need analogue inputs, a network endpoint, battery operation or amplification for passive speakers. Very sensitive IEM noise and the hardest headphone loads need actual testing.
Limits and unknowns
The shared coaxial port changes direction by mode; do not assume coaxial input and output operate simultaneously. Host compatibility and audible noise remain untested. Official troubleshooting states over-current protection but no overload or over-temperature protection; repeated trips warrant manufacturer support.
Current verdict
Conditional fit for a simple wired desktop DAC/headphone system.
Why it fits
The useful purchase reason is a missing digital input, headphone output or RCA DAC path. Documentation supports these roles; it does not establish a sonic upgrade over working equipment.
What it can replace
A USB DAC and desktop headphone amplifier, or a digital-to-RCA stage in a compatible system.
What it cannot replace
A phono stage, analogue-input preamplifier, network streamer, speaker power amplifier or independently load-tested amplifier.
What SoundPath Lab tested
Documentation review only. No SoundPath Lab listening, measurements, setup or long-term ownership test has been performed.
What remains untested
Actual output power/distortion, sensitive-IEM noise, channel balance, thermal behavior, console handshake and long-term reliability.
System conditions
Use the correct headphone output and a genuine balanced cable; never join balanced negative terminals. Set optical/coaxial sources to supported stereo PCM. Choose driver-free USB for supported consoles; higher PC rates need the appropriate FiiO driver and player path.
Alternatives by need
K15 if analogue inputs or network reception are required; K11 R2R only when its different DAC architecture is itself a deliberate requirement. These are system-fit alternatives, not tested sound rankings.
Keep or upgrade
Keep a working DAC/amp if it already supplies these connections and adequate headroom. A larger balanced power number alone is not a reason to replace it.
When to reassess
Reassess after a material firmware change, a confirmed host issue or unit-level power/noise testing; there is no compulsory date-based hold.
Ownership evidence
No SoundPath Lab long-term ownership evidence is attached. This is a documentation-based reassessment.
Firmware, manual and support
Official download record lists K11 V129 updated 2025-11-05. Settings are erased; the manufacturer instructs AES3=1 for the described TV optical-dropout fix. Fix claims remain pending independent verification. Windows 10+ and continuous power/USB are required by the upgrade instructions; never use K11 R2R firmware.
Current regional price, stock, warranty duration, repair coverage and guaranteed support horizon are Unknown. Confirm the exact regional offer before buying. A live product page does not establish stock or a support commitment.
