Aurender N30SA
A two-chassis network transport with digital outputs and configurable external reference/word-clock input; no analogue DAC is included.
Evidence checked / updated: 2026-10-11. Manufacturer claims and editorial system-fit assessment. No SoundPath Lab listening or measurement test.
Verified documentation
- Outputs: USB PCM32/768/native DSD512/DoP256; AES/EBU, coaxial RCA/BNC and optical. The vendor SPDIF/AES table lists32/192/DSD64DoP; actual receiver word-length acceptance must be checked.
- Storage and architecture: Two connected chassis;8TB main storage plus one user-accessible2.5-inch bay and480GB cache, OCXO revision2 and Gigabit Ethernet.
- Clock input: 75Ω BNC accepts listed10MHz/12.8MHz reference or44.1/48kHz word-clock multiples1–512; selected mode, frequency and termination must match.
Best for
an existing high-quality compatible DAC and a library/network workflow needing multiple digital outputs
Avoid if
analogue or headphone output, one-box installation or an external clock without matched input conditions
Limits and unknowns
Both chassis and their specified connection are required; set output and clock mode deliberately. Do not read the vendor32-bit SPDIF table as guaranteed universal receiver support.
Current verdict
A conditional shortlist for an existing high-quality compatible DAC and a library/network workflow needing multiple digital outputs. Decide on the documented role and constraints below; no independent sound-quality ranking is implied.
Why it fits
A two-chassis network transport with digital outputs and configurable external reference/word-clock input; no analogue DAC is included. The buying assessment is an editorial inference from its documented topology, rather than a listening conclusion.
What it can replace
It can cover the specific functions described in this profile when the connected source, load, control and power path meet the stated conditions. Treat a change as solving a concrete interface or workflow need; do not assume an audible improvement from chipset, price, clock or component-count claims.
What it cannot replace
analogue or headphone output, one-box installation or an external clock without matched input conditions
What SoundPath Lab tested
SoundPath Lab checked primary-source model identity, the stated interfaces and specifications, source conflicts and this decision profile. No device was listened to, measured, installed, firmware-retested or endurance-tested for this batch. L2 means documented decision coverage.
What remains untested
Sound preference, actual noise with your load, room behavior, software and service compatibility, connection stability and long-term reliability remain untested. Vendor measurements remain vendor claims and cannot be read as SPL test results.
System conditions
Use a stable Ethernet network, compatible tablet/Conductor app, correctly configured storage and a DAC or analogue amplifier appropriate to this model. Streaming accounts, paid tiers and region availability are separate. Roon Ready is an endpoint function: it requires a separate Roon server and active subscription, not an embedded Roon server. Make an independent music backup; cache, RAID and UPS are not backups.
Alternatives by need
N20 or N200 may serve a smaller transport installation when the required ports suffice; A15 integrates analogue conversion if a separate DAC is unnecessary.
Keep or upgrade
Keep a working system when its existing connections and usable level already meet your needs. Before switching, confirm the limitation most relevant to you, the comparison models, all adapters or licenses, and local service. More functions do not by themselves justify replacement.
When to reassess
Reassess after a material firmware/manual change, independently reproduced issue, hardware revision or documented service change. Routine firmware availability does not close an owner issue. No arbitrary future date is needed for unchanged facts.
Ownership evidence
No six-month ownership study was performed. Budget for the actual consumables, battery or tube service where applicable, app/service dependence, and local repair access. Their future durability and availability are unknown unless independently established.
Firmware, manual and support
The model-specific documentation linked below was checked for the signal path and operating conditions. Use documentation matching the actual hardware and market. Warranty, parts supply, repair turnaround and any promised support end date must be checked locally; a downloadable manual is not a support-duration guarantee.
An exact worldwide launch date, globally uniform price, authorized local stock and delivery date were not established unless explicitly stated below. A regional price or launch is not a global availability claim. No defect-free or six-month ownership conclusion is made.

Revision record
2026-10-11 — Promoted from L0 to L2 after full Decision Profile review. Stable product identity retained; source conflicts and untested behavior remain visible. L2 is evidence coverage, not independent test acceptance or automatic recommendation.
