Aurender N200

N200 is a dedicated Ethernet/Conductor digital transport with USB and RCA coaxial S/PDIF; pair it with a compatible external DAC and downstream volume/amplification.

Evidence checked / updated: 2026-10-11. Manufacturer claims and editorial system-fit assessment. No SoundPath Lab listening or measurement test.

Verified documentation

  • Signal role / outputs: Digital-output network transport/server; USB and RCA coaxial S/PDIF. No built-in DAC, analogue output, headphone amplifier or speaker power output.
  • USB formats: Manufacturer maximum 32-bit/768kHz PCM, native DSD512 and DoP DSD256; actual output is limited by DAC support. Native DSD requires Linux-source compatibility, not merely a Windows ASIO claim.
  • Storage / network / control: 2 user-installable 2.5in storage bay(s); music drives not included. 240GB system/cache SSD is separate. Gigabit Ethernet, two USB3 data ports and Conductor iOS/Android control.
  • Services / subscription boundary: Officially lists TIDAL, Qobuz, Internet Radio, Spotify Connect and AirPlay. Service availability/account requirements vary. Current Roon Ready support needs a separate Roon Server, active Roon subscription and appropriate software/output setup; it is not a Roon Server.
  • Non-USB limits: Official table lists PCM up to 32-bit/192kHz and DoP DSD64; confirm DAC/interface word-length support rather than treating this as a universal 32-bit S/PDIF guarantee. N200 does not provide DSD-to-PCM conversion.

Best for

A system needing a USB DAC today and a basic coaxial alternative, with two local-library drive bays.

Avoid if

You need an internal DAC/amp, Wi-Fi-only installation, CD ripping, Roon Server functionality or AES/EBU, optical, BNC, clock input or DSD-to-PCM conversion.

Limits and unknowns

Conductor/mobile control, wired LAN, optional music drives and service accounts shape the total system cost. USB/native DSD compatibility and actual service/firmware behaviour remain untested. A clock or isolation claim is not proof of better sound.

Current verdict

N200 is a dedicated Ethernet/Conductor digital transport with USB and RCA coaxial S/PDIF; pair it with a compatible external DAC and downstream volume/amplification.

Why it fits

A system needing a USB DAC today and a basic coaxial alternative, with two local-library drive bays.

What it can replace

A dedicated digital-source role feeding the specifically compatible DAC; it does not replace the DAC, volume control, power amplifier or a separate Roon Server.

What it cannot replace

You need an internal DAC/amp, Wi-Fi-only installation, CD ripping, Roon Server functionality or AES/EBU, optical, BNC, clock input or DSD-to-PCM conversion.

What SoundPath Lab tested

Official model documentation and the listed sources were reviewed. No SoundPath Lab unit was listened to, measured, installed or firmware-retested. L2 is complete decision coverage, not independent test acceptance or a score.

What remains untested

Actual sound, noise, output limits, room response or digital compatibility, unit variation and long-term reliability remain untested. No owner case or fix outcome was independently assessed in this revision.

System conditions

Use Ethernet and a phone/tablet on the reachable local network. Connect a compatible UAC2/Linux USB DAC to the dedicated audio port, not the USB data ports. Install music storage only if needed. For Roon, update both system and Conductor, select the supported output and enable/name the resulting endpoint again after changing output. Keep downstream volume control and allow ventilation; perform orderly shutdown.

Alternatives by need

Within this batch, N150 is USB-only; N200 adds RCA coaxial; N20 adds AES/EBU, BNC/optical and clock input/DSD conversion. Choose the smallest model meeting the real output/storage requirement. Keep a compatible existing source when these differences do not solve a limitation.

Keep or upgrade

Keep an existing system that already meets these conditions. Upgrade only to solve a specific missing connection, operating requirement or physical constraint. Validate the intended chain before purchase; the documented differences do not establish audible superiority.

When to reassess

Review after a material official specification/configuration change, relevant verified issue, support withdrawal or accepted independent testing. Do not close an issue or infer a maturity change from routine marketing edits.

Ownership evidence

Long-term ownership evidence is pending. No six-month durability or reliability result is claimed.

Firmware, manual and support

Official model quick guide, current Roon list and N-series setup guide were reviewed. Updates use Conductor/Aurender System Update; the exact current model firmware version and guaranteed future app/service support period were not established. No firmware issue is closed by this record.

Current local price, stock, regional warranty, spare parts and guaranteed support horizon remain Unknown. Current official documentation does not prove authorised local stock or a launch/shipping date. Confirm the offer and service terms for the exact configuration.
