LUMIN P1 Mini

A streaming DAC/preamplifier and stereo television hub with analogue and digital inputs.

Evidence checked / updated: 2026-10-11. Manufacturer claims and editorial system-fit assessment. No SoundPath Lab listening or measurement test.

Verified documentation

  • Format paths: Network PCM384/DSD512; dual ES9028PRO. USB audio input PCM384/DoP128.
  • Input/output direction: RCA analogue in; USB/coaxial/optical digital in; HDMI inputs and ARC output; XLR/RCA analogue out, USB/BNC digital out.
  • Network, supply and size: RJ45 + SFP network; internal toroidal supply, 7 kg.

Best for

a stereo source/TV hub feeding an existing power amp

Avoid if

multichannel Atmos/DTS decoding, XLR analogue input or built-in speaker power

Limits and unknowns

A wired network and compatible control app are required. Paid services, Roon server/subscription and regional availability are separate. Digital volume requires a verified safe gain path; family manuals do not establish the latest firmware.

Current verdict

Conditional shortlist for a stereo source/TV hub feeding an existing power amp. The recommendation depends on the documented system conditions, not an independent sound-quality ranking.

Why it fits

A streaming DAC/preamplifier and stereo television hub with analogue and digital inputs. This assessment is an editorial inference from the documented topology.

What it can replace

Can consolidate the functions stated in the profile when the source, load and control path meet the conditions below. The useful replacement is a function or connection gap, rather than an assumed improvement in sound.

What it cannot replace

multichannel Atmos/DTS decoding, XLR analogue input or built-in speaker power

What SoundPath Lab tested

SoundPath Lab checked primary-source model identity, the stated interfaces and conditions, and this decision profile. No device was listened to, measured, installed, firmware-retested or endurance-tested for this review.

What remains untested

Actual sound preference, noise with your headphones or speakers, software behavior, room results, connection stability and long-term reliability remain untested. Manufacturer measurements below are not SPL measurements.

System conditions

Match the actual digital output to the DAC input and supported rate, or match XLR/RCA line level to a volume-controlled amplifier. SFP is network connectivity, not optical S/PDIF. P-series HDMI decodes stereo PCM; Atmos/DTS passthrough is not multichannel decoding.

Alternatives by need

P2 addresses a different size/input/power-supply requirement; T3X changes whether conversion or extra source control is inside the system. Keep an existing DAC if transport alone is needed.

Keep or upgrade

Keep a working system if it already provides the connections and level you need. Consider this model only if its documented role solves the specific need described above; check the alternatives and all remaining costs before changing equipment.

When to reassess

Reassess after a material manual or firmware change, an independently reproduced issue, a hardware revision, or a documented change in service or repair availability. A routine update does not prove that an existing issue is resolved.

Ownership evidence

No six-month ownership study was performed. Battery wear, pad or stylus replacement, service dependence and local repair access should be evaluated for the actual use case. No future reliability outcome is predicted.

Firmware, manual and support

The shared online manual is v1.7 and describes firmware V22, iOS app v12 and Android app v9. Those are the manual scope, not a verified current-version baseline. Model-page input/output limits take precedence over generic family descriptions.

Launch day, globally uniform price, local authorized stock, repair turnaround and guaranteed support end date were not established in this review. Regional store offers are not global availability. No defect-free or six-month reliability claim is made.
