Aurender ACS100
A CD-ripping and music-library device supplying an external USB DAC; storage protection is not proof of disaster recovery.
Evidence checked / updated: 2026-10-11. Manufacturer claims and editorial system-fit assessment. No SoundPath Lab listening or measurement test.
Verified documentation
- Function and output: CD ripping, library/server management and USB digital transport; not an analogue DAC, headphone amplifier or speaker amplifier. USB PCM32/384, native DSD512 and DoP128.
- Storage and power: Two user-accessible drive bays,240GB cache and external19V/3.42A DC supply; fitted capacity is unknown until inspected.
- Ports: Gigabit Ethernet; front/rear USB3 storage and a basic rear USB2 audio output.
- Control: Conductor and ACS Manager; the current official Roon Ready list includes this exact model. Roon requires a separate server/subscription.
Best for
a substantial CD collection needing a documented rip/store/USB-DAC workflow
Avoid if
analogue DAC output, headphones, passive speakers or SACD ripping
Limits and unknowns
Confirm disc legality, rip accuracy, metadata and backup destinations; no headphone, analogue or clock input is documented.
Current verdict
A conditional shortlist for a substantial CD collection needing a documented rip/store/USB-DAC workflow. Decide on the documented role and constraints below; no independent sound-quality ranking is implied.
Why it fits
A CD-ripping and music-library device supplying an external USB DAC; storage protection is not proof of disaster recovery. The buying assessment is an editorial inference from its documented topology, rather than a listening conclusion.
What it can replace
It can cover the specific functions described in this profile when the connected source, load, control and power path meet the stated conditions. Treat a change as solving a concrete interface or workflow need; do not assume an audible improvement from chipset, price, clock or component-count claims.
What it cannot replace
analogue DAC output, headphones, passive speakers or SACD ripping
What SoundPath Lab tested
SoundPath Lab checked primary-source model identity, the stated interfaces and specifications, source conflicts and this decision profile. No device was listened to, measured, installed, firmware-retested or endurance-tested for this batch. L2 means documented decision coverage.
What remains untested
Sound preference, actual noise with your load, room behavior, software and service compatibility, connection stability and long-term reliability remain untested. Vendor measurements remain vendor claims and cannot be read as SPL test results.
System conditions
Use a stable Ethernet network, compatible tablet/Conductor app, correctly configured storage and a DAC or analogue amplifier appropriate to this model. Streaming accounts, paid tiers and region availability are separate. Roon Ready is an endpoint function: it requires a separate Roon server and active subscription, not an embedded Roon server. Make an independent music backup; cache, RAID and UPS are not backups.
Alternatives by need
ACS100 offers user-fitted storage and basic USB audio; ACS10 adds configuration-dependent capacity and multiport networking. A30 integrates a DAC/headphones when that function is actually needed.
Keep or upgrade
Keep a working system when its existing connections and usable level already meet your needs. Before switching, confirm the limitation most relevant to you, the comparison models, all adapters or licenses, and local service. More functions do not by themselves justify replacement.
When to reassess
Reassess after a material firmware/manual change, independently reproduced issue, hardware revision or documented service change. Routine firmware availability does not close an owner issue. No arbitrary future date is needed for unchanged facts.
Ownership evidence
No six-month ownership study was performed. Budget for the actual consumables, battery or tube service where applicable, app/service dependence, and local repair access. Their future durability and availability are unknown unless independently established.
Firmware, manual and support
The model-specific documentation linked below was checked for the signal path and operating conditions. Use documentation matching the actual hardware and market. Warranty, parts supply, repair turnaround and any promised support end date must be checked locally; a downloadable manual is not a support-duration guarantee.
An exact worldwide launch date, globally uniform price, authorized local stock and delivery date were not established unless explicitly stated below. A regional price or launch is not a global availability claim. No defect-free or six-month ownership conclusion is made.
Unresolved source conflicts
- The official model guide contains residual A30 labels in some operating paragraphs. Model identity/ports are cross-checked against the exact product page; the copied labels are not used as evidence of additional functions.
