NAD Brand Profile
NAD brand profile covering Lenbrook ownership, BluOS and MDC platform boundaries, product families, lifecycle evidence and unresolved support questions.
Brand evidence profile · Foundation v1.0
NAD Electronics was founded in London in 1972 and is now headquartered in Pickering, Ontario, Canada. It is owned by the Lenbrook Group, alongside Bluesound and PSB Speakers.
Product families and platform
The current range spans integrated amplifiers, streaming amplifiers and preamplifiers, home-theater components and custom-install products. NAD's technology story is not one uniform platform. BluOS appears on connected models; MDC and MDC2 provide replaceable expansion modules on compatible products; Dirac Live and other licensed technologies are available only on selected models or modules. These boundaries must be recorded per product rather than applied to the entire brand.
SoundPath Lab currently tracks seven NAD products. One is recorded as discontinued; six model-level lifecycle states remain unresolved.
Support and lifecycle
NAD's official company history, MDC and MDC2 documentation and product support pages provide enough information for a factual foundation profile, but not enough for a brand-wide conclusion about repair duration, firmware continuity or owner remedy.
Evidence status
Ownership, founding, headquarters and platform boundaries are verified from official NAD and Lenbrook material. Model-level firmware and repair horizons remain Unknown. No brand-level owner cohort is available.
Manufacturer response: Not contacted. This does not mean the brand declined to respond.
