Marantz Brand Profile
Marantz brand profile covering current HARMAN ownership, MODEL and CINEMA families, HEOS boundaries, lifecycle evidence and unresolved support questions.
Brand evidence profile · Foundation v1.0
Marantz was established by Saul Marantz in Queens, New York, in 1953 after he developed the Audio Consolette. The brand is now part of the Sound United consumer-audio portfolio acquired by HARMAN in September 2025; HARMAN is a wholly owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics.
Product families and HEOS
SoundPath Lab currently tracks twelve Marantz products across the MODEL, CINEMA and STEREO families, including four early internal records that still require fuller public evidence. HEOS is built into compatible connected Marantz products; it must not be generalized to every component or generation.
Support and lifecycle
Marantz provides official FAQs, manuals, product registration, warranty information, authorized service centers and a product archive. These resources support product-level research but do not establish one guaranteed firmware or repair horizon across all regions. All twelve tracked lifecycle states currently remain Unknown.
Evidence status
Ownership, founding history and HEOS scope are verified from HARMAN and Marantz sources. Model-level support duration, repair availability and owner-remedy evidence remain Unknown. No SoundPath Lab brand-level hands-on conclusion is claimed.
